After the colossal flop of 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh', Pawan Kalyan was supposed to work for 'Veeram' Telugu remake under SJ Suryah's Direction. The project, however, came Director Dolly's way after SJ Suryah was floored with acting assignments. Titled as 'Katamarayudu', This biggie released Today amid high expectations. Let's see what is it all about...
Katamarayudu (Pawan Kalyan), a village head, who loves his Four Brothers so much that the thought of Marriage doesn't come to his mind as he fears it might lead to a rift between the five brothers. Contrary, All the Four Brothers fall in love and makes attempt to convince his Elder Brother some how. Finally, They reach a conclusion that Avanti (Shruti Haasan) is the only hope for their problem and unites her with Katamarayudu by playing few tricks. What happens when Avanti discovers the actual truth about Katamarayudu? Who are those anti-social elements targeting Avanti's Family? Do watch 'Katamarayudu' in theaters near you for knowing about it!
'Katamarayudu' is the one-man show of Pawan Kalyan. He entertainers his fans and non fans also to the fullest with this commercial potboiler. Undoubtedly, This Get-up is one of the best in PK's Career. Pawan excelled in Comedy Blocks & Romantic Scenes with Shruti Haasan. He exhibited the emotions quite well in the Climax as well.
Shruti Haasan does a very good and cute role. All of her scenes with Pawan Kalyan are very entertaining. She wins brownie points with her glamour quotient.
Out of the four brothers, It's Ajay who emerges as the Top Scorer. Siva Balaji, Krishna Chaitanya and Kamal Kamaraju does a fine job. Ali tickles the funny bone after a long gap. Nasser is first rate. Tarun Arora and Pradeep Rawat are very good job. Rao Ramesh tried to a bit different , this is the one of the best character his carrier . Pruthvi fails to impress.
Anup Rubens disappoints big time. The music composed by him isn't apt for a Mass Entertainer. All the tracks, except 'Mira Mira Meesam', were just ordinary. Even Background Score isn't appreciable. Visually, Only the title track is appealing. Cinematography by Prasad Murella is an asset. Production Values are very good . Director Dolly adapted Tamil flick 'Veeram' so well to suit Pawan Kalyan's image. Inspite of limitations, Dolly showed his expertise in Action Blocks. Some of the dialogues like 'Chavuke Nenante Bhayam…Nenu Evari Daggaraku Vellamante Valla Daggaraku Velthundi' were impressive. Dolly can't be blamed for routine story/screenplay as its a remake. He succeeded in making 'Katamarayudu' a treat for Pawan Fans using his image to the fullest.
