Following several days of murmurs that the prime time star of Indian English TV news could be looking at a change, TNM has now learnt that Arnab Goswami informed his news desk that he is resigning from Times Now.

He was the Editor-in-Chief and President, News, of Times Now and ET Now.
TNM has learnt that he announced at an editorial meeting that he
announced his decision. He told his team that he will remain in
television. Multiple sources in Times Now have confirmed this to TNM.

He told the editorial team that he believes in the media, and that he will continue in television.

According to a source in Times Now, a few editors and reporters were
called in specifically for the meeting in which he announced that he was
qutting. The meeting was called at 4:30pm and went on till about
5:30pm.

"He repeatedly said that 'The game has just begun'," said a source in
Times Now, "and that 'independent media is going to thrive'."
Times Now was not a runaway success initially, but Goswami spun its ratings around with his loud television.

Exchange for media Says,
"Goswami has led TIMES NOW to leadership in less than a year of
launching the channel in 2006. Since 2007, he has maintained and
increased the dominance of TIMES NOW in the No. 1 slot for 8 consecutive
years. His 9 pm “The Newshour” is the last word in appointment viewing
on Indian television, commanding over 70 per cent share of the audience
and unmatched viewer loyalty for the last 8 years.

The interview based “Frankly Speaking with Arnab” is, both in terms of
viewership and impact, today the most followed interview on television,
making headlines every week. As Editor in Chief of TIMES NOW, he has
revolutionised news coverage, anchoring for 100 hours during the 26/11
attack, spearheading the greatest exposes against corruption starting
with the CWG scam, and including the 2G scam, the Kargil for Profit scam
and others in 2010-11, the coverage of the Anna agitation, and path
breaking interviews with Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi in 2014 that set
the news agenda in the National Election."

Arnab hails from Assam and is the son of an army officer. After
obtaining a masters degree in sociology at Oxford, Arnab began his
journalistic career with The Telegraph for brief period before joining
NDTV.

In an interview with Scroll, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai recalled
that the Arnaab Goswami had turned up at his house to inquire about job
opportunities in television news. “I had then been a mentor to him,”
Rajdeep told Scroll.

The Caravan reported Arnab spent nine years at NDTV, and went on to become the head of the channel’s national news desk.

In June 2014, when the pair were invited to be members of a panel discussion, Firstpost reported that it was Arnab who made the first move and shook hands with Rajdeep before the panel began.
The feud within the Samajwadi Party (SP) took another dramatic turn on Sunday after Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav sacked his uncle Shivpal Yadav, again, and three other ministers considered 'Amar Singh loyalists' from the state cabinet.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav announced the decision to sack Shadab Fatima, Narad Rai, Shivpal Yadav and Om Prakash Singh after meeting party legislators – roughly a month after stripping Shivpal, who is the SP state president, of key portfolios.

Sunday’s(23-Oct-2016) surprise decision indicates a hardening of stands by both camps – the new and young wing of the party led by Akhilesh and the old guard represented by Shivpal – as the party readies to fight a tough election, battling mounting anti-incumbency.

“CM said in the meeting that whoever is close to Amar Singh cannot be in my cabinet… Only one of us can be in SP, chose your side," Raju Yadav, Mainpuri MLA told media outside CM residence on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a separate meeting is being held at Mulayam Singh’s residence attended by top brass of SP, including Rewati Raman Singh, Naresh Agarwal and Mata Prasad Pandey.

Earlier this morning, Ram Gopal Varma(RGV) stumped for Akhilesh saying being with him means being with the winning side.

"Those who oppose Akhilesh won't be able to show their faces in the legislative assembly. Where Akhilesh is, victory follows," Ram Gopal said in a letter released to party workers today, ahead of Akhilesh's meeting. Ram Gopal also asked party workers to strengthen Akhilesh's hand, especially ahead of the November 3 rath yatra called by the UP CM. Last Wednesday, Akhilesh announced his decision to embark on a 'Samajwadi Vikas Rath Yatra', alone
Telugu film star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan has started scripting his second book, aimed at propagating the party's ideology and its philosophy, which will hit stands next year.

The book, titled "Nenu-Manam-Janam" (Me, we and people) with the tagline 'marpu kosam yuddham' (battle for change), will be different from his first book "Ism", which was released a couple of years ago.

A statement from Jana Sena today said the book would reflect Kalyan's intention behind floating the party, the situations that inspired him on the mission, the things he aimed to do and the objectives he wished to accomplish in future.
'Nenu - Manam - Janam'(Fighting For the Change!)
This is Jana Sena's ideology

To propagate the Jana Sena's ideology and take its philosophies to the public, the party President Shri Pawan Kalyan is penning a book titled "Nenu - Manam - Janam" (Marpu Kosam Yuddham).

This book would reflect everything from what initiated him to launch the party, which incidents compelled him to work for the people, what his plan of action, and the aim he is striving for. This would be different from earlier book published. Unlike his earlier book "Ism", the writings will be lucid, to the point and in simpler terms, so that even common man can read and understand it. The Jana Sena party is planning to bring out the book in the first half of 2017.
